Dear Member,
With Victoria on track to meet roadmap targets, we are pleased to share our planned reopening date of Monday 9th November!
This year without a doubt has been a challenging period for the hospitality industry but, as we look forward with hope to November, I would like to express my gratitude to all our Members, Staff & Committee for all of the support you have offered to our Box Hill RSL community.
We can be proud of everything we have accomplished; despite the adversity we have faced. With the challenges of this year now hopefully behind us, I am pleased to be able to write to you with further information about the expected return of your Sub-Branch.
We have gone into great depth to ensure your safety while visiting us.
Our friendly reception team will be available to take your reservations between 9am – 2pm daily from Monday 2nd November by calling
03 9897 6700.
To ensure all Government restrictions are met the online booking system is currently not available.
The success of reopening Box Hill RSL is linked to the average daily case rate, & in turn we must continue to follow the restrictions and wear masks where required. We will also need to be agile, as dates and specifics may change in the coming weeks.
Please remember, if you, or anyone in your household develop symptoms of fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of smell or taste, please get tested at a coronavirus (COVID-19) testing facility and stay home.
I will continue to provide updates as specifics or changes are confirmed.
Yours sincerely,
Denis Fernando – General Manager

Dear Member,
Following Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ announcement regarding the reintroduction of Stage 3 lockdown restrictions, Box Hill RSL regretfully announce the temporary closure of our Club effective from 9:00pm Wednesday July 8, 2020. The health and well-being of both our employees and our members remains paramount. This temporary closure will be in place for 6 weeks or until further notice.
To re-open our Sub-Branch over the past month, to again close our doors is heartbreaking for our Membership & Community. It goes without saying that my Management team along with our Welfare department are passionate about our Members as they are the essence of our business. We will continue to work hard to support you through this difficult time in any way we can.
Should you require Welfare or Pension Assistance please contact Faye Clarke directly on 03 9897 6780 or alternatively you can email her on welfmgr@boxhillrsl.com.au

It is with a heavy heart that we announce a forced closure of Box Hill RSL Sub Branch effective immediately. With the update of the Victorian lockdown today, Box Hill RSL Sub Branch will be closed due to Government regulations now in place.
Firstly, I want to reassure you that your health, safety, livelihoods and the ongoing success of our RSL are all receiving my complete attention. The Management team are working extremely hard to ensure measures are put into place to ensure that we can reach back to normality quickly.
Yesterday, it was communicated by The Hon Dan Andrews that Victoria will proceed to implement a shutdown of all non-essential across the state to combat the spread of Coronavirus. Prime Minister Mr Morrison further confirmed that Stage 1 Restrictions which involved the closure of licensed clubs, would apply from midday Monday 23rd of March 2020.
It is anticipated that this forced closure will continue for the next 3 weeks, until the end of the school holidays, Monday 13th of April 2020. As the situation continues to change, I will constantly monitor and communicate any changes as soon as more information is known.
We are committed to the welfare of veterans & widows ensuring that the best possible assistance can be provided in these uncertain times. Box Hill RSL Sub Branch Welfare department will still remain open in the capacity of taking phone calls & responding to emails. We have a range of services & resources to support members, their families & the broader community so if you are experiencing hardship please contact Faye Clarke on 9897 6780 or email welfmgr@boxhillrsl.com.au.
As of Monday 23rd March 2020 till Monday 13th April 2020 all events, social meetings & gathering have been postponed. If you have a deposit for an upcoming event or function with us, rest assured, we have this on file and it will absolutely be ready for your use when we have permission to re-open. If you have any questions in related to a potential event please contact Chantelle Casse on 0457 006 015 or email bookings@boxhillrsl.com.
Due to the forced closure the Win A Car Draw promotion will be suspended until further notice.
We ask that all members be sure to check regularly as we will be posting updates as new information comes to light.
These are unprecedented times; we hope that such action will ensure the swift containment of this virus and we can get back to normality as quick as possible. The hospitality industry will resurrect & we will do it in a big way.
I will continue to stay in touch and keep you updated as the situation develops. In the meantime, please stay safe, look after yourselves and try to stay positive. We’re with you.
Sincerely,
Denis Fernando – General Manager
